Procedure

This is a simple procedure, done with local anaesthesia. In it, the particular tissue is stitched in such a way that there remains a small opening only. The excess skin or tissues are cut neatly and gently. It might happen that there is not enough skin or the hymen is none -existent. Then the doctor uses some of the vaginal mucosa to create one.

The procedure usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes and can be done as an OPD procedure. It requires 10-15 days for complete healing but patients can return to their daily work routine in a day or two.
